Welcome to Incandesce. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website (incandesce.co.za) and any purchases made through it. By accessing this site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

About Us

Products

All candles are hand-poured using soy wax and are sold as shown, with minor variations expected due to the handmade nature of the product (colour, texture, and scent throw may vary slightly between batches).

As a natural product, soy wax can show slight frosting, surface texture variation, or wet spots against the glass. These are natural characteristics of handmade soy wax, not defects, and do not affect the quality or burn performance of your candle. Darker dyes in particular may show more visible frosting or slight unevenness in colour — this is a normal reaction with soy wax.

Each candle is supplied with printed safety and burning instructions. Please follow these carefully: trim the wick to 5mm before each use, burn within sight and away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable materials, maintain at least 30cm clearance, and discontinue use once 10mm of wax remains.

Safety notice: Our candles are made from natural materials but remain a fire product. Always burn within sight, keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials, and follow the care instructions provided with your order.

Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR). Incandesce is not currently VAT registered, so prices shown do not include VAT. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, though prices for orders already placed will not be affected. Payment is processed securely through PayFast at checkout.

Orders

An order is only confirmed once payment has been received and you receive an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example in cases of suspected fraud or stock unavailability, in which case a full refund will be issued.

All content on this website — including photos, product descriptions, logos, and branding — is the property of Incandesce and may not be copied or reproduced without written permission.

Limitation of Liability

While we take care in how our candles are made and described, Incandesce will not be held liable for any indirect or consequential damage arising from misuse of our products, including failure to follow burn instructions.

Privacy

We collect and process personal information (such as name, address, and contact details) solely to fulfil your order, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We do not sell or share your information with third parties beyond what's needed to deliver your order (e.g. our courier partners).

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
